If you’re experiencing a constant ringing in the ears, this is often down to a condition known as tinnitus. Unfortunately, tinnitus can have a huge range of causes. The Types of Tinnitus
A type of tinnitus known as Pulsatile tinnitus means that you have rhythmical noises beating at the same rate as your heart – the cause of this is likely to be high blood pressure or glue ear.
If you hear a low frequency noise, that you feel is coming from an external source, then you should first check the possibility that it is just an external source – for example by asking the neighbours if they can hear it too. If you are suffering from tinnitus then you may find that the noise is more noticeable in certain situations.
